But what if we could bring back some of the animals we have lost? What if extinction didn’t have to be forever? Once in their world Nigel sets out to discover what they eat, how they live and, ultimately, why they became extinct. Assisted by his crack team: Park vet Susanne and head keeper Bob, Nigel finds that rescuing and looking after prehistoric creatures isn’t as easy as he first thought! I'm a huge fan of Nigel and i know this is'nt the first time he's gone after prehistoric wildlife. He was in the 2 part walking with dinosaurs special and he also starred in sea monsters were he would travel the seven deadliest seas across time observing the most dangerous prehistoric sea monsters. But i have to say this is his best series yet. He finds all kinds of ways to bring the creatures back to the park. He lured the T.REX siblings through the time portal with a ham sandwich. He fired nets to capture the microraptors. He grabbed the giant scorpion by it's tail and put in a cage you use to take your cat to the vets with. And his latest method for catching the deinosuchus is to use himself as bait to lure it into a pen. And by the way, it's not to rival the walking with series or Jurassic park" ... IMDB Quote Ep 1 - Nigel travels back 65 million years to track down the devastating predator and undoubted king of the dinosaurs: the Tyrannosaurus rex. Ep 2 - Nigel travels back 10,000 years to the end of the Great Ice Age when Britain was still attached to Europe. As the Earth warmed up it forced the last remaining mammoths back to colder, more remote places like Siberia. Ep 3 - Nigel now decides to pay a visit to the China of 125 million years ago: the early Cretaceous period. It was here that experts made a recent and extraordinary discovery: a tiny fossilized dinosaur with feathers. They have called the creature Microraptor, giving the scientific community its strongest evidence to-date that birds are the direct descendants of dinosaurs. Ep 4 - Today we have five species of big cat, in the past there have been 30 and Nigel decides to rescue the most famous extinct prehistoric feline of all: the Sabre Tooth. Part 5 - insects and other invertebrates have always fascinated Nigel and the remote Scottish Island of Arran offers him some clues about one of the Park’s next guests. The rocks of the island date back some 300 million years and reveal fossilized tracks of an Arthropleura: a giant arthropod.
